IranWire understands that yesterday, 24 August, at 830am, intelligence agents in Gorgan, Golestan province, went to the home of a Baha'i couple named Shahin Samimi and Hoda Kanaan and showed an order of the prosector’s office to search the home.
Hoda Kanaan is a local music teacher with 18 years of experience in teaching children in the area – some of her students have themselves become music teachers.
Agents seized numerous items related to instructing music and maintaining a classroom, such as flutes, music books, toys, Orff teaching instruments, tables and chairs. The couple’s phones, tablets and books and photos, in particular related to the Baha’i faith, were also confiscated.
Shahin Samimi asked the agents, as they were leaving, how the couple could retrieve their belongings. The agents said they should call the crime prevention office of the judiciary.
