Draconian restrictions on Iranians' free internet access are being considered by parliament in the form of the so-called User Protection Bill. It comes at a time when Tehran is also spending untold resources on creating a closed, domestic intranet to contain and control the "online" behavior of citizens. This cartoon by Mana Neyestani points to the self-destructiveness of clerics' obsession with digital censorship and total control of the internet: in all likelihood, an unattainable goal.
