Persecution of Iranian Baha'is

From July 2022 onward, state security forces in Iran unleashed a brutal and undisguised pogrom against the Baha'is: a peaceful faith community that has been present in the country for more than a century. The Ministry of Intelligence and other agencies tried to justify the violence by appealing to conspiracy theories, accusing Baha'is of Zionism, of plotting to subvert the state, and indoctrinating children. This cartoon by Mana Neyestani draws on the parallels between the Nazis' treatment of Jews in the early days of the Holocaust, and how Baha'is are treated in the Islamic Republic today.
