Protests against mandatory hijab and the Islamic Republic itself have extended into their third week, in Iran, where one of the most visible and dramatic acts of defiance has seen women removing their headscarves and cutting their hair in public. And the repeated violent crackdowns on the protests have not deterred Iranians from taking to the streets to chant slogans and cry "Death to the Dictator!"
