Helping Earthquake Victims, Islamic Republic Style

At least three people were killed, more than 1,000 were injured and hundreds were forced to seek shelter from freezing winter conditions after an earthquake hit the northwestern Iranian city of Khoy on January 28. The government deployed riot police to clamp down on residents protesting the authorities’ response to the disaster, instead of sending badly needed relief.
