After the supervisory Guardian Council disqualified Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the founder of the Iranian Revolution, whom some Iranians refer to as Imam Khomeini, a conservative cleric declared, “The Council of Guardians can not only disqualify Imam’s grandson, it can even disqualify the prophet’s son.” Our cartoonist Shahrokh Heidari has reinterpreted Michaelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, in which Ayatollah Janati, the secretary of the Guardian Council is disqualifying his own creator.
