Recently, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, a prominent ayatollah close to Iran’s supreme leader, said, “dignity is the most beautiful word of all.” He then added that cuckoldry can happen in relationships or in politics. “Those politicians who admit a foreigner into our private domain are political cuckolds,” he said.

He was probably referring to government ministers who have called for improved relations with the West. But our cartoonist Mana Neyestani believes that the ayatollah would actually make an exception for those politicians who court foreign leaders, and for Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who has greeted President Vladimir Putin of Russia and all things Russian with open arms.
