In February, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati was elected to the Assembly of Experts, a body responsible for supervising the actions of Iran’s supreme leader and for choosing his successor. Among the16 representatives for Tehran, Jannati received the least number of votes. Now he has been elected as the Assembly's president.
