A photo exhibition titled “In the Interval Between Two Revolutions” was held on Tuesday, April 14, at the Canadian Parliament building in Ottawa, offering a visual account of five decades of repression in Iran under the Islamic Republic. The exhibition was attended by several Canadian Members of Parliament, media figures, and Iranian activists based in Ottawa.
According to the organizers, the exhibition was intended to bring the voice of the Iranian people to Canadian politicians. They said the Iranian-Canadian community has, over the years, consistently tried to highlight the demands of the Iranian people and their desire to move beyond the Islamic Republic. The exhibition included photographs from the 1979 Revolution and every major social movement that followed, leading up to the protests in January.
Kaveh Shakouri, one of the organizers, told IranWire: “The images in this exhibition are arranged in chronological order. The photos cover the period from the 1979 Revolution to January 2026, and in the process, they also address the numerous crimes of the Islamic Republic, including cross-border assassinations, the downing of the Ukrainian airliner, and the nationwide internet blackouts in Iran.”
