A judiciary spokesman in Iran has announced that an Iranian woman with British residency has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on spying charges. Although Tehran has not confirmed the name, the jailed woman is thought to be London-based art student and British Council employee Aras Amiri, who was arrested in Iran in 2018 and has been accused of undermining Islamic culture.
