Chronic noise pollution from low-flying aircraft continues to be a huge problem for Tehran’s residents, particularly those living and working in the Emaam Zadeh Hashem section of the city. Si Metri Jay Street is one of the worst affected areas. Noise from airplanes disrupts all aspects of people’s daily lives, from shopping and doing laundry to attending school and taking part in leisure activities in public spaces and parks. Despite residents’ complaints, officials have failed to take any steps to alleviate the situation.
