Explosion Injures Four in Mashhad

A car exploded injuring four people in Mashhad this week, leading to renewed concerns over the use of illegal gas containers. A fire department spokesman confirmed that a Peugeot had exploded at Havez Bolivar CNG gas station in Mashhad, leaving a taxi driver badly injured and three passersby suffering from minor injuries. Authorities said the use of a fuel container that did not comply with safety standards could have been the cause of the explosion.
