Universities and the Battle Against "Sedition"

How can universities play a role in combating the danger of “seditious” movements? That was the question being asked a conference today hosted by a literature and humanity college in Tehran. Attendees included former Revolutionary Guards commander and previous head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Ezzatollah Zarghami and former minister of culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi. The 2009 Green Movement, which saw millions of people take to the streets to protest against the contested results of the presidential election, was supported by huge numbers of students.
