On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 13, a group of students gathered in front of Iran's economics and finance ministry to demonstrate against the financial hardship students increasingly face across the country. Responding to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's calls to address the economy as part of his New Year message, the group demanded a practical, immediate solution. Protesters warned that if new measures were not put in place soon, the situation would continue to deteriorate. In particular, students demanded greater productivity in factories and the provision of improved export conditions for businesses.
