Golestan province is home to a wide range of different ethnic populations and is often referred to as Iran's "rainbow of races." As a result of its rich mixed heritage, it is also a melting pot of diverse art styles and traditions, and philosophy from all over the world. Turkmen, Persian, Turkish, Baluch, Kazakh and Sistani peoples have all made their mark on Golestan's art, history and culture.
