Dangerous Smog in Mashhad

It's not just Tehran that suffers from poor air quality. These photographs show a smoggy Mashhad, Iran's second-biggest city and the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province. As with the capital, Mashhad's residents must take precautions such as wearing masks when air pollution reaches dangerous levels.
