This steamship Koula has sat in the Persian Gulf since being grounded there in the 1960s, and is known more commonly by the name “the Greek ship.”  The cargo ship was originally built by William Hamilton in Glasgow and given the name Empire Trumpet, but got its nickname from its last owners, who were Greek and reportedly en route to Greece when she became stuck. The ship, which still has an air of mystery about it, is a popular subject for photographers.
