The Bahram Palace in Semnan province in northern Iran is located in the dramatic desert of Dasht-e Kavir. The palace, also known as Shah Abbas, dates back to the Safavid dynasty, which lasted over 200 years, from 1500 to 1736, and is home to various Persian artefacts. It is also part of Iran’s extensive caravanserais route, and housed people traveling across some of the Persian Empire’s most important trade and religious routes.
