It's Sunday, April 5, and although the Iranian new year holiday is over, Tehran's Grand Bazaar is still shut down. Officials have announced that all non-essential businesses will remain closed until at least May 12. The government will assess the situation with regard to the coronavirus crisis prior to that date, and determine whether businesses, including Tehran’s usually bustling market, can reopen at that point.
