Although new social distancing restrictions and a national lockdown of non-essential businesses have been declared, in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, many Tehran residents still use public transportation because of the cheap fares compared to other options. And on April 11, officially the first business day in Iran after the Persian new year holidays, there was no sign of social distancing in metro stations and on trains.
