Iranian security forces have reportedly detained journalist Yaghma Fakhshami amid a crackdown on media workers in the country.

Fakhshami was arrested on Thursday morning, when officers stormed his workplace, reports say. He was later transferred to ward 209 of Tehran’s notorious Evin prison.

Dozens of journalists have been jailed across Iran since the September 16 death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of Tehran’s morality police triggered a wave of nationwide protests.

Iranian authorities arrested three "citizen journalists" accused of receiving "significant amounts of money” from two foreign organizations, local media reported on November 2.
