دو روز پس از وقوع سیل مهیب در خراسان رضوی، شمار تلفات به «هشت نفر» افزایش یافته است.

Two days after devastating floods struck Razavi Khorasan province in Iran, the death toll rose to eight.

Local authorities warned of intensified rainfall and potential flooding in seven northern and northeastern provinces.

Social media videos show the massive damage and cars swept away on a major highway.

On Wednesday, torrential rains lashed Mashhad and other cities in Razavi Khorasan, causing widespread flooding.

Reza Abbasi Neishabouri, the province's chief crisis manager, confirmed eight fatalities.

The intensity of the downpour was staggering.

Mashhad City Council member Majid Dabirian reported 38 millimeters of rain in just 40 minutes, exceeding the city's typical annual rainfall of 200 millimeters.

He added that 12 people remain missing so far

The Khorasan Razavi Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains, thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and potential floods throughout the coming week.

The full extent of the damage in the affected areas remains unclear.

However, initial reports suggest significant harm to agricultural land, transportation infrastructure, and essential utilities, including drinking water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications.
