Iranian police have announced the arrest of 28 citizens accused of being members of a "Satanism Network."
Saeed Mahdavi, the police commander in northern Savadkooh, stated on Friday that members of the alleged network, who were traveling from other provinces, were identified and arrested in a joint operation with intelligence forces.
The statement claimed that the arrested individuals, comprising 20 men and 8 women, possessed "special signs and symbols of Satanism, alcohol, and drugs."
Iranian authorities have not provided a clear definition of the charge of "Satanism," and this is not the first time citizens have been arrested on this accusation.
Earlier this month, police arrested 261 people, including three Europeans, in Shahryar city, accusing them of being part of a "Satanism network" and "spreading the culture of Satanism and nudity."
