The Chief Justice of Fars Province announced on Tuesday, June 9, the initiation of judicial cases against more than 20 individuals in connection with a Telegram channel in Zarrin Dasht County, declaring that the assets of 13 defendants in this case have been seized so far.
According to a report by the Mizan News Agency, Sadrollah Rajaei-Nasab, the Chief Justice of Fars Province, stated that judicial files have been opened for more than 20 operatives of the “Gardan-e Javidan” [Immortal Guard] channel in Zarrin Dasht County.
He noted that, in the “first phase,” the assets of 13 defendants involved in this case have been identified and confiscated.
Rajaei-Nasab claimed that the administrators of this channel had published content that was “criminal” and had “wounded public sentiments.” According to him, all operatives of this channel have been identified and face judicial prosecution.
The report published by Mizan made no mention of the defendants’ identities, the precise charges attributed to them, or their status regarding detention or summons.
This measure comes after the commencement of military attacks on Iran, when Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i, the Chief Justice of Iran, announced the issuance of judicial orders to seize and confiscate assets associated with what he termed “elements cooperating with the enemy inside and outside the country.”
Mohseni-Eje’i had also threatened these individuals with execution, stating: “One of the prescribed punishments in this regard is execution, and following investigations, one of the legal punishments will apply to the eligible individuals.”
In the wake of this directive, the “SAHAM” smart financial inquiry system was launched. With the activation of this system, prosecutors’ offices and court branches across the country can identify the property and assets of citizens online in the shortest possible time and take the necessary measures for their confiscation.
