Amir Hossein Bilali, student rights activist a co-founder of the Rash Art Cultural Institute, was detained by Iranian authorities on August 28 and has not been able to contact his family since his detention.

Saeed Khalili, Bilali's lawyer, told the Emtedad news website that Bilali's family is "completely uninformed about his status," raising concerns about his well-being.

He said that they have reported that Bilali has "yet to establish any communication with them."

Reports indicate that Bilali was arrested at his home in Tehran. During the arrest, security forces also seized his personal belongings.

Sources told IranWire that Bilali's detention is connected to the recent arrest of Mehdi Yerrahi, a protest singer.

Bilali is a well-known student activist and has been involved in a number of cultural and artistic endeavors.

He was the political secretary for the Islamic Association of Amir Kabir University from 1999 to 2001. More recently, he has worked in IT.

Bilali's detention is the latest in a series of arrests of activists and artists in Iran. The Iranian government has been cracking down on dissent in recent months.
