Mohammad Abolhasani, an Iranian civil rights activist, was subjected to 12 lashes on Sunday as part of his ongoing imprisonment in Chubin Dar Prison.
Abolhasani, currently serving a three-year prison term in Chubin Dar Prison, received the flogging punishment in Qazvin province.
The Revolutionary Court of Qazvin issued the original sentence in December 2023, including a three-month prison term, later converted to a fine.
In recent years, Abolhasani has faced multiple convictions and harsh sentences. In October 2022, while already imprisoned, he was handed an additional four-year prison term.
Earlier, in February 2021, Branch 26 of Tehran's Revolutionary Court sentenced him to 15 months imprisonment and four months of forced labor for "propaganda against the Islamic Republic."
After his arrest in January 2022, Abolhasani was initially detained in Evin Prison. On February 6, 2023, he was forcibly transferred to Chubin Dar Prison, where he remains incarcerated.
