A 23-year-old woman named Hananeh Kia was shot dead by security agents in Nowshahr as she made her way home from a dentist's appointment on Wednesday.
A relative confirmed to IranWire that Hananeh had died on the Wednesday night. Her body had yet to be handed back to the family on Friday morning.
At the time of writing at least 36 people, many of them teenagers and young people in their 20s, are known to have been killed since mass protests over the death of Mahsa Amini began last Friday.
The city of Nowshahr in Mazandaran province is one of at least 80 Iranian cities to have become the locus of large protests against dictatorship in Iran this week.
