Alireza Ezadi, head coach of Iran's Paralympic national swimming team, announced on Friday that two key members will miss the upcoming competition in France due to visa complications.
Shaheen Ezdiyar and Sina Zeighminejad, who are training for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, were denied visas by the French embassy in Iran.
"The state of both swimmers is good in terms of training and preparation, but we have not yet been able to secure their participation in an international event to test themselves," Ezadi said.
This setback prevents them from participating in the French swimming competition, a crucial preparation event for the Paralympics.
Ezadi confirmed that there is no chance for the swimmers to participate in the French competition now.
