The president of the Islamic Republic's Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, has been prohibited from entering the federation's building, Iranian media reported.

Some sources claim the ban, imposed by security and judicial bodies, is "until further notice."

On Monday, Tabnak news website published a photo of Taj meeting with Ahmad Donyamali, the Minister of Sports, at the ministry building.

"The fact that Mehdi Taj meets with the Minister of Sports contrasted with him having a problem going to his own workplace, adds credibility to the rumors that he is banned from entering the Football Federation," the report said.

The media outlet also highlighted Taj's controversial past, including issues with the contract of Marc Wilmots, the former manager of the national football team, a questionable deal with a Chinese company for VAR equipment, and previous corruption allegations.

Tabnak suggested that regulatory bodies and the Ministry of Sports may have been awaiting a decision on the football corruption case before opening potential changes in the federation.

Taj declined to appear at the Kerman Prosecutor's Office to address accusations related to financial corruption at Mes Rafsanjan FC, citing his post-surgery mobility issues.

The same reason was given for his absence from the Football Federation building. However, his appearance at the Ministry of Sports has raised questions among some Iranian media outlets.
