The commander of Iran's police force, Ahmadreza Radan, announced that the crackdown against women in the country will continue.

Radan emphasized there was support from parliament, government, and the judiciary for the enforcement of mandatory hijab for women.

"With the backing of parliament, government, and judiciary, as well as the support of the people, we will continue the Noor plan with power and precision," he said.

Since April 13, law enforcement agencies have amplified the enforcement of hijab regulations under the national action plan "Noor."

The police commander also asserted public backing for "Noor" but failed to mention widespread protests against the initiative.

The "Noor" plan aims to enforce stricter veiling regulations following a request by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Women have reported violence during arrests by the morality police units implementing the initiative.
