Saleh Nikbakht, the lawyer representing the family of Mahsa Amini, has revealed that the family's complaint remains under the prosecutor's jurisdiction without a scheduled court date.
Nikbakht emphasized that cases related to the 2022 protests, including Amini's, should be conducted publicly.
However, he noted that many such trials, involving individuals charged with offences like "waging war against God" and "corruption on Earth," have been conducted behind closed doors.
The lawyer highlighted that the investigation into Amini's death, which occurred while she was in the custody of morality police agents in September 2022, has yet to yield results, with no court proceedings initiated.
The death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman from Saqqez, sparked widespread protests in Iran.
Nikbakht expressed frustration that Kasra Hospital's medical reports concerning Amini were withheld from her family, depriving them of the chance to seek consultations with trusted physicians.
