The home and school of Kokab Badaghi Pegah, a teacher and union activist in Izeh city, were simultaneously raided by plainclothes officers on an unusual inspection on October 25.

During the raid, some of her personal and electronic possessions were confiscated.

The Coordinating Council of Iranian Educators reported the incident, stating that a group of plainclothes agents visited Kowsar High School, where Pegah is employed, and searched her equipment in the presence of her students.

"One of the officers physically searched the students in Pegah's class, and the students were warned not to discuss the inspection," the council said in a statement.

The raid comes after Pegah and five other teachers and union activists were recently penalized with "removal and non-application of ratings" in their work records. Iranian teachers get a pay rise according to a rating by the Ministry of Education.

Pegah has also been temporarily dismissed from service for one month by the appeals committee responsible for handling administrative violations of education employees, reportedly due to her participation in teachers' protests and speaking during those protests.

Pegah has a history of being summoned and facing legal action due to her trade union activities.

In June, she was sentenced to three months of dismissal by the local authorities.
