A bus accident in Iran's Yazd province has killed at least ten people and injured dozens more.

The accident happened around 2:33 AM on Tuesday on Saghand Road, around 140 kilometers from Yazd en route to Tabas.

The bus, carrying between 50 to 52 passengers, was going from Bushehr to Mashhad when it overturned.

Reports from various news agencies indicate that the number of injured persons ranges from 36 to 42.

Hassan Momeni, head of Iran's road police, told IRNA that preliminary investigations suggest the bus veered off the main road onto a mining access road before overturning.

The injured have been transported to hospitals in Yazd, with authorities stating that their conditions are not critical.

The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, with road police experts currently investigating the incident.

The director general of crisis management for Yazd province confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

Last month, a collision between two buses and a passenger car in Kermanshah province left six dead and 30 injured among participants of the Arbaeen religious ceremony.
