A fire broke out at a cooking oil factory in northeastern Neyshabur on Wednesday, killing four people and injuring one, according to local emergency officials.
Hamid Hosseini, head of emergency services, confirmed that the four fatalities were caused by suffocation. The injured person is currently hospitalized.
Abolfazl Asadi, head of Neyshabur's Fire Department, said the fire broke out in one of the factory's warehouses, which subsequently exploded.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control after several hours.
Investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing while search and safety operations continue at the site.
