Kamal Kharrazi Passes Away Due to “Severity of Injuries”

In the early hours of Friday, April 10, domestic media in Iran reported that Kamal Kharrazi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, has died due to the severity of injuries he sustained during Israeli airstrikes on Tehran several days ago.

Kharrazi and his wife were targeted in the airstrikes last week. At the time, reports confirmed that his wife was killed instantly in the attack, while he was left critically injured.

News of his passing first emerged early Friday morning through individuals close to the Kharrazi family, and was later confirmed by official state news agencies in Iran.
