According to information received by IranWire, 39-year-old “Amir Ahmadvand” was targeted by gunfire on the night of January 8 near the Rashid Police Station in Tehran and lost his life. He was married, and at the time of his killing, his wife was three months pregnant and under strict medical bed rest.
According to informed sources, his last telephone call was with his father-in-law before 10:00 p.m. His father-in-law had told him that he was waiting for them to return home together, and Amir had replied: “I am coming right now.” This was his final conversation.
After receiving no news about Amir Ahmadvand’s whereabouts, the family spent the entire night searching for him across various hospitals. They finally went to Tehranpars Hospital around 3:00 a.m. and were told to return in the morning. The next morning, the family learned of his fate when his name was listed among the deceased.
According to relatives, when his body was delivered, it became evident that he had been struck by three bullets from behind. One of the bullets had hit his flank and the area of his spleen. There were also traces of shotgun pellets (sachmeh) striking his legs.
Based on this account, Amir Ahmadvand’s body was transferred from Tehranpars Hospital to Kahrizak on January 9. The family intended to bury him on January 10, but due to the sheer volume of transferred bodies, they were unable to locate his remains, and the burial ceremony was postponed.
The body of Amir Ahmadvand was finally laid to rest on January 11 at Behesht-e Zahra cemetery. According to the informed source, in the days following his death, offers were made multiple times to designate him as a “Basij” member, but the family rejected them.
Amir Ahmadvand worked professionally in cabinetmaking. He was a Muay Thai athlete and also had a history of performing in several theater productions and short films. His relatives remember him as a kind, well-mannered, and compassionate individual.
