Two Iranian singers, Vafa Ahmadpour and Danial Moghaddam, have been sentenced by the Shiraz Revolutionary Court on charges of "propaganda against the Islamic Republic."

The court handed down identical sentences to both individuals: one year in prison, a two-year travel ban, and a two-year ban on online activities.

According to the ruling issued by Branch 1 of the Shiraz Revolutionary Court, they have to serve their sentences under electronic monitoring outside of prison.

This arrangement will allow Ahmadpour and Moghaddam to complete their sentences with restricted movement within a specified radius from their homes.

The court proceedings took place on August 6 at the Shiraz Revolutionary Court, where the charges against the two activists were addressed.

The case dates back to May 9, when security forces in Shiraz arrested Moghaddam and Ahmadpour.

Following their arrest, they were initially held at the Ministry of Intelligence's detention facility in Shiraz, known as "House No. 100."

Subsequently, they were transferred to the central detention facility of Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

Danial Moghaddam was released on bail from Adelabad Prison on July 6, pending the court's decision.

Ahmadpour is currently serving a one-year prison sentence in Adelabad Prison in a separate case.

The rapper dedicated songs to Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Mohammad Hosseini, two protesters who were executed in January 2023 for participating in the 2022-23 protests.
