Mother Kills Autistic Teenage Daughter in Central Iran

A mother has killed her 11-year-old daughter, who had autism, in central Iran's Isfahan, according to a report by Mehr news agency on Sunday.

Last week, social media circulated a picture of the missing girl, Diana, who was last seen on April 22. A community search effort began online.

On Sunday, Hossein Turkian, head of Isfahan's intelligence police, announced the girl's murder. 

Investigations identified the mother as the perpetrator.

Details regarding the cause and motive remain under investigation.
