As part of the New Year holiday fortnight, Tasnim News Agency is highlighting some of Iran’s most stunning buildings. Parliament is closed and people travel across the country to visit families during the holiday, so news naturally slows down — giving media a chance to celebrate the country’s rich heritage.

Here we highlight three of Iran’s stunning architectural achievements: the Nasir-ol-Molk mosque in Shiraz; the Abbasi House in Kashan, Isfahan Province in central Iran; and Vank, a cathedral in the city of Isfahan.

The mosque was built from 1876 to 1888, the historical house during the late 18th century, and Armenian immigrants established the cathedral in the early 1600s.
