For the third day, Iran's interior ministry has opened its door to those wishing to register to be a candidate in the country's twelfth presidential election. Some reports say up to 500 people have registered to run for president, including war veterans, people from ethnic minorities, and many women. At the end of the registration period, the influential Guardian Council will vet the potential candidates, and decide who is authorized to run for president.
