Iranians went to the polls on May 19, but it wasn't just in Tehran, Shiraz and Isfahan that people exercised their democratic right. Ballot boxes popped up in most places where a significant amount of Iranians live, including in several cities in the United States and Canada, in Germany, Sweden, the Ivory Coast, and New Zealand. There was also a ballot box made available to people attending the Cannes Film Festival.
