Celebrating 39 Years Since the Revolution

Iranians mark the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution today, February 11, or the 22nd of Bahman on the Persian calendar. Authorities encourage people to go out in the streets to celebrate and show their devotion and patriotism to the Islamic Republic. The state-run Islamic Republic News Agency pay particular attention to children, using powerful photographs of them holding flags and praising the Supreme Leader them to present an image of a unified country proud of its armed forces, religious commitment, and its standing on the world stage.
