The people of Mazandaran province have been enduring the coronavirus crisis for months, as have people in many other provinces in Iran. Hundreds of people in Mazandaran have died from Covid-19, and the province began experiencing a second spike in cases on June 22. According to reports by Mazandaran and Babol Medical Universities, there are currently about 1,700 Covid-19 patients hospitalized, and 20 out of 22 counties in the province are reported to be in a “red” or emergency alert situation.
Regardless, people are still traveling to Mazandaran for their summer holidays.
