Fog Over Tehran

Air quality in Tehran and other major cities has worsened dramatically in recent days, attributed by environmentalists to an over-consumption of low-cost, low-quality fuel. The dangerously high concentration of pollutants in the air has excacerbated some citizens' pre-existing health problems and may be putting lives at risk. So far, the government has not responded to requests for temporary traffic restrictions in the city.
