Members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) arrested Dr. Hashim Moazen Zadeh, editor-in-chief of the PALNA news website, on October 30.
Following his arrest, the Doctors and Law news site quoted Moazen Zadeh as telling the head of Iran’s Medical Authority he had not called on doctors to rally on October 26.
On that day, medical workers planned to hold a protest at the Medical Authority building in Tehran in a show of support for the nationwide protest movement.
The medics said the gates of the building remained closed and that a riot squad violently cracked down on the gathering.
