The prosecutor of Paveh district in western Iran has banned all movement along the border area following increased security tensions and Israel’s recent attack on Iran.
Hadi Nazari, Paveh’s prosecutor, issued an official warning this week, citing “special security conditions” and the need to "prevent infiltration by hostile elements."
“Any movement in the border strip of Paveh district, especially by kolbars, is prohibited, and violators will bear the consequences,” Nazari said in a statement.
The prosecutor added that people should “seriously refrain from any movement in these areas.”
The warning comes as Iranian authorities declared special conditions following Israel’s recent military action against Iran.
Under Article 473 of Iran’s Islamic Penal Code, individuals who knowingly enter prohibited areas face potential lethal force, with authorities bearing “no legal responsibility for casualties.”
The border restrictions particularly affect kolbars, who carry goods across the mountainous Iran-Iraq frontier in the region.
The ban has raised concerns among border residents and human rights activists about the safety and livelihoods of local citizens.
