U.S. President Donald Trump told ABC News in a phone interview that the early-morning attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran were “so effective” that “most of the potential leadership options for the Islamic Republic” have also been killed.
The President of the United States told ABC News that individuals identified by U.S. intelligence agencies as potential successors to Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, were killed “in the initial wave of attacks.”
Donald Trump stated: “Perhaps those who survived are not aligned with American interests. But none of the people we had in mind are going to come to power, because they are all dead.”
Donald Trump also said in the interview that an Iranian official, who may not be loyal to the leader of the Islamic Republic, has reached out to him.
