According to reports received by IranWire on Saturday, June 13, a Baha’i citizen named Ahmad Naeimi was arrested in the city of Yazd.
The report states that Ahmad Naeimi had previously been summoned to the Yazd Prosecutor’s Office to provide explanations. Upon appearing before Branch 6 of the Investigative Judiciary at the Yazd Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday, he was placed under arrest and transferred to a detention facility.
According to available information, Mr. Naeimi’s prosecution is linked to a joint case involving his wife, Flora Samadani. Flora Samadani was previously arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents at her private residence in Yazd on May 2 and remains in detention.
As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the specific charges leveled against the Baha’i couple.
Baha’i citizens have faced systematic discrimination and blatant violations of their civil rights by the government throughout the post-revolution era. However, this crackdown has intensified significantly since June 2024, following heightened tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel.
