Defense attorneys Mahmoud Taravat-Roy, Nazanin Salari, and Masoud Ahmadian have been sentenced to prison terms, as well as supplementary punishments, including a two-year ban on leaving the country and the revocation of their passports.
Regarding Mahmoud Taravat-Roy, who is also a poet and a member of the Iranian Writers' Association, the association wrote that Branch 1 of the Shiraz Revolutionary Court has sentenced him to three years in prison.
Nazanin Salari and Masoud Ahmadian, two other defense attorneys, have been sentenced to similar penalties in the same case. The charges leveled against these individuals have been announced as "assembly and collusion with the intent to commit crimes against national security" and "propaganda activity against the regime."
These sentences have been issued amid reports in recent months of intensifying judicial crackdowns on lawyers, trade union activists, and members of independent legal associations in Iran.
