An adviser with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) succumbed to his injuries after being wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital Damascus.
According to Daneshjoo News Agency, the deceased advisor is identified as Majid Divani. He was severely injured in an Israeli airstrike three days ago.
Israel carried out hostile attacks on Syria targeting areas including Al-Mazzeh in southeast Damascus on Tuesday. Israeli warplanes struck the same area again on Wednesday.
Syria’s state news agency, SANA, reported on Wednesday that “Around 5:25 PM today, the Israeli enemy launched an airstrike from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential building in the Al-Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus"
The airstrike reportedly led to the deaths of three civilians, injured three others, and caused significant material damage to nearby private properties, SANA added.
